Construction Technical Inspector - Lead
The successful candidate will serve as a trusted technical resource ensuring construction activities comply with approved plans, specifications, safety standards, and federal regulations.
Work is performed on-site at Buckley SFB with routine visits to Peterson Space Force Base, Greeley Air National Guard Station, and Fort Carson.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily construction inspection and observation for SRM and MILCON projects on an active military installation
- Monitor construction progress and document technical noncompliance, deficient practices, weather impacts, and site conditions
- Prepare and submit required reports, including:
- Preparatory work and constructability reviews
- Daily inspection reports and AF IMT 1477 Construction Inspection Records
- Weekly and monthly project monitoring reports
- Significant observation reports as conditions occur
- Compare scheduled vs. actual progress and identify risks to the critical path
- Advise the COR and Base Civil Engineer (BCE) on RFIs, design issues, change requests, unforeseen conditions, punch lists, and final inspections
- Review contractor compliance with safety plans and construction quality control (CQC) programs
- Produce meeting minutes for pre-bid meetings, preconstruction conferences, safety meetings, and project status meetings
- Maintain all documentation in Government file systems using established formats
- Comply with installation safety, security, and access requirements at all times
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction management, construction inspection, or technical oversight
- Demonstrated experience supporting MILCON or large SRM projects
- Working knowledge of:
- Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)
- Federal, DoD, Air Force, and ANG construction regulations
- IBC, NEC, NFPA, ASTM, ACI, OSHA, and Life Safety Codes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work full-time on-site at a secure military installation
- Ability to obtain installation access credentials and Secret-level clearance eligibility
