Project Manager
NAVSEA SEA 00D supports the Command mission of designing, building, delivering and sustaining the U.S. Navy’s ships, submarines and systems through its strategic communications efforts. Representing more than 86,000 employees geographically dispersed across more than 40 locations worldwide, SEA 00D is responsible for providing strategic guidance, planning and execution support for all enterprise-wide internal and external communication, including marketing requirements and legislative engagement. The office provides direct support and strategic advisement to the Commander on all communication matters.
Specific task areas and functions of SEA 00D support include general communications support (internal and external); multimedia planning, development and execution; website support; legislative support and analysis; and strategic communications and planning support.
Location/Place of Performance: Washington Navy Yard – Washington Navy Yard, DC 20376
Job Description/Responsibilities:
- Provide management and oversight to include management of contractor personnel accomplishing tasks under this contract, workload management, planning, execution, development of monthly labor summary, monthly contract cost and performance report, monthly personnel report, and other project status reports to be submitted to the COR.
- Provide management support that coordinates and executes projects for public affairs, congressional affairs, visual information and multimedia, and technical library/archive, aligning with SEA 00D’s mission and goals, providing training and development to maintain skills and follow industry standards.
- Provide support for public affairs products as needed, such as presentations, press releases, briefs, audits, communications plans, still or video photography and post-production editing.
- Ensure that projects’ and customer’s goals are met and adheres to budget.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain security clearance and clearing necessary background checks/assessments as required. Active high-level Security Clearance will be required, and current Security Clearance is desired.
- Required Education: Bachelor in the field of English or Communications, or related field.
- Required Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in a relevant field of study or experience in a related area within DoD/Navy programs. Working knowledge of NAVSEA, Congress, the Navy, and Department of Defense.
