IT Support Technician
Location: Scott Air Force Base, IL
Type: Part-Time (Approx. 20 hrs./week)
Overview:
Provide technical support for the Education & Training Center at Scott AFB. This role ensures the operability of classroom and testing room technology systems, including PCs, servers, multimedia equipment, and network components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily maintenance and troubleshooting of PCs, multimedia projection systems, printers, servers, switches/routers, wireless services, and audio-visual equipment.
- Install and configure hardware/software; perform upgrades and virus protection.
- Support instructors and test administrators with login and technical issues.
- Manage inventory and documentation of all tech equipment.
- Maintain network systems and recommend improvements.
- Provide user training on classroom technology as requested.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in hardware and software support for educational or similar environments.
- Expertise in Windows Server and Windows OS troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with classroom technology systems (Smart Boards, multimedia projection, AV systems).
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently without on-site supervision.
- Technical certifications and/or relevant degrees preferred.
- Must pass background checks and comply with DoD/Air Force security requirements.
