IT Equipment & System Administration Support Specialist
Responsibilities:
- System & Network Administration
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain NIPR/SIPR desktops, laptops, tablets, and peripherals.
- Maintain handheld devices (smartphones, tablets).
- Ensure secure network connectivity (wired/wireless) for all users.
- Apply required DoD/DAF security updates and ensure full cybersecurity compliance.
- Support MICT assessments and information assurance requirements.
- IT Asset Management (ITAM)
- Manage lifecycle of all IT assets: receipt, tracking, maintenance, updates, and disposition.
- Label and document all accountable and pilferable equipment in accordance with Air Force policy.
- Conduct annual inventories and maintain 100% accountability.
- Coordinate decommissioning and DRMO/PBO turn‑in of outdated or unserviceable equipment.
- Advise leadership on tech refresh timelines, upgrades, and annual procurement needs.
- Help Desk & User Support
- Create, modify, and close user and email accounts; manage permissions and distribution groups.
- Install and maintain approved Air Force software; verify annual software compliance.
- Track and resolve support tickets using systems such as ESD, ServiceNow, or CIPS.
- Operational Support
- Maintain TACLANE devices and manage SIPR enclave updates and notifications.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot VTC/Secure VTC equipment.
- Administer the CES SharePoint site, manage permissions, and support quarterly reviews.
- Attend required IT and unit support meetings as a technical subject matter expert.
- Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare weekly activity reports, monthly progress reports, software license inventories, account reviews, and tech refresh recommendations.
- Ensure deliverables meet Government standards for accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
Qualifications:
- CompTIA Security+ certification (IAT Level II, DoD 8140.03).
- Active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain/maintain).
- Minimum 3 years of IT experience in system administration, help desk, or technical support.
- Ability to complete required cybersecurity, OPSEC, and base‑specific training.
- Eligibility for a Common Access Card (CAC) and compliance with base access requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical accuracy with a diverse range of individuals.
- Associate degree in Computer Science or related field. (Preferred)
- Experience with U.S. Air Force systems, networks, or IT policies. (Preferred)
