Financial Analyst III
Location: Naval Base Coronado San Diego
Clearance Required: Secret (or ability to obtain)

Position Overview
The Financial Analyst III provides advanced financial administration, accounting support, and analytical services in support of U.S. Navy commands and program offices. This role serves as a senior-level resource responsible for analyzing financial data, managing budget execution, reviewing transactions, ensuring audit compliance, and supporting the transition and operation of Navy financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Active participation in business process improvements (BPI) initiatives to standardize and enhance financial management process in preparation for independent audits.
- Responsibilities encompass comprehensive support to meet internal revenue manual (IRM) and FIAR objectives, managing audit response activities for the navy, coordinating samples and finding questions (FQ’s), and overseeing the tracking and timely closure of Corrective Action Plans (CAP’s).
- Leading discussions with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) on Business Process Narratives (BPN) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), developing standard financial policies, conducting sustainment testing of internal controls, and performing deep-dive analysis of Unliquidated and Undelivered Orders to support financial sustainment efforts.
- Experience utilizing financial systems and methodologies include developing and implementing Internal Control Review (ICR) testing programs and supporting all ICR requirement and coordination with AU Points of Contacts (POC’s). Expertise in Jupiter, supports Budget Execution Validation (BEV), CERMC, FERMC and ‘One FM’ metrics.
- Serves as primary liaison for audit responses, data calls and compliance inspection, supports preparation for command certification and Command Readiness Assessment Visits (CRAV), and ensures audit readiness through thorough documentation, internal checks, and adherence to standards and regulations
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Finance, Accounting, Business preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial management, preferably within the Department of Defense or Navy organizations.
