Sheet Metal Inspector
ASR International Corp is seeking a contractor Sheet Metal Inspector for the next 6+ months on an assignment supporting a customer based in Malden, MA who works primarily with GE standards and specifications. The position requires strong background in inspection of sheet metal parts used on aircraft engines, such as Damper sleeves, rings, heat shields, and shrouds; blueprint and GD&T comprehension; and knowledge of GE aerospace manufacturing specifications and aerospace specifications/standards, such as AS9100.
Location: Malden, MA 02148 (on-site)
Duration: 6 months+ with potential extension
Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (minimum of 40 hours per week, OT/weekend work as needed)
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Strong background in inspection of sheet metal parts used on aircraft engines (Damper sleeves, rings, heat shields, shrouds, etc.)
- Strong blueprint and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) comprehension
- Ability to use inspection tools such as micrometers, indicators, comparator, height gages, and other manual inspection tools.
- Ability to make mold casts to check dimensions using optical comparators.
- Ability to identify and interpret dimensional and visual defects
- Ability to understand and implement customer specifications and requirements
- Accuracy and attention to detail in all work tasks
- Experience with completing 1st article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections
- Strong knowledge of aerospace specifications and requirements, such as AS9100
Additional Requirements:
- Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
- Knowledge of GE Aerospace manufacturing specifications is highly desired
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds
