Human Resources Specialist
Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for administering and supporting HR programs including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and employee recordkeeping. This position serves as the primary HR point of contact for employees and managers and helps ensure HR processes run efficiently and compliantly.
This is a hands-on role focused on execution and employee support rather than executive-level HR strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Benefits and HR Administration
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries.
- Manage company health, dental, & vision benefit plans.
- Administer employee benefits programs and assist employees with enrollment and changes.
- Coordinate with benefit providers and brokers.
- Process personnel changes, status updates, and employee records.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment activities.
- Maintain employee files and HR documentation.
- Compliance & Reporting
- Assist with compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Support EEO, ADA, FMLA, and other employment-related requirements.
- Maintain HR databases and personnel records and reports.
- Assist with audits and compliance reviews as needed.
- Recruitment and Onboarding
- Coordinate full-cycle recruiting activities for corporate and contract positions.
- Post jobs, screen applications, schedule interviews, and coordinate hiring activities.
- Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
- Conduct employee onboarding and new hire orientation.
- Maintain applicant tracking records and recruitment documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3+ years of Human Resources experience.
- 5+ years of experience managing corporate insurance programs, employee benefits, or related functions.
- Experience in recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and benefits administration.
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and state insurance regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
- Experience with ADP, JazzHR, or similar Payroll and HR systems.
- Experience supporting a multi-state workforce.
- Experience supporting government contractors or professional services firms.
- Experience managing multi-state insurance programs and employee benefit plans.
